Regulatory Mandate

As per Regulation 14 of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Regulations, 2023, it is mandatory to follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) of India 2023 for all electrical installations across India. This ensures uniformity, safety, and compliance.

केंद्रीय विद्युत प्राधिकरण (CEA) विनियम, 2023 के विनियम 14 के अनुसार, पूरे भारत में सभी विद्युत प्रतिष्ठानों के लिए भारत के राष्ट्रीय विद्युत कोड (NEC) 2023 का पालन करना अनिवार्य है। यह एकरूपता और सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करता है।

Legal & Regulatory Framework
  • The Electricity Act, 2003: Governs generation, transmission, and use of electricity.
  • CEA Regulations: Formulated under Section 177(3), making NEC compulsory for safe installations.
  • BIS Standards: All materials must conform to Indian Standards (IS) or IEC standards.
कानूनी और नियामक ढांचा
  • विद्युत अधिनियम, 2003: बिजली के उत्पादन, पारेषण और उपयोग को नियंत्रित करता है।
  • CEA विनियम: धारा 177(3) के तहत तैयार किए गए, जो सुरक्षित इंस्टॉलेशन के लिए NEC को अनिवार्य बनाते हैं।
  • BIS मानक: सभी सामग्रियों को भारतीय मानकों (IS) या IEC मानकों के अनुरूप होना चाहिए।
